An Introduction
Corporate Management is an autonomous
program aimed at high caliber students with business management
potential. It takes a fresh approach to business education
by combining study at IICM with salaried employment enabling
students to graduate debt-free with one/ two years invaluable
'hands-on' corporate experience.
Research has shown that as well
as technical knowledge, employers particularly value skills
such as:
- The ability to work under pressure
- Action planning skills
- Communication skills
- IT skills
- Team-working
- Self-confidence
- Self-management skills
- Willingness to learn
The program is specifically designed
to develop these skills and enhance career prospects from
a very early stage. By developing appropriate skills, competencies
and knowledge in the context of a responsible role in a business
organization, student development is accelerated, equipping
graduates for early career progression in business management.
The autonomous diploma is delivered
over two/ three years. The second and third include salaried
employment along with weekend classes. Individual student
profiling is used in the early stages to assist in identifying
particular development needs. This provides a focus for personal
development during the remainder of the program
IICM opens door for first-class
applicants with strong academic skills with the potential
for employment in a business after just one year. Gaining
valuable work experience whilst learning provides the opportunity
for early career advancement at graduation.
Teaching and assessment methods
include lectures, workshops, seminars, projects, presentations
and group exercises. The aim is to help the students become
effective independent learners equipped with practical skills
and competencies. Each module is assessed using one or a combination
of coursework, examinations or projects. Guidance is provided
by a team of in house faculty, visiting experts from the industry
and few of the management gurus.
